Let’s Feel Swish…Shall We!

What comes to your mind when you think of the word swish? What comes to my mind is these things below:

As most individuals would probably pick Henri Jayer Richebourg wines (where they range around sixteen thousand dollars) I decided to look up the healthiest white wines for a healthy heart and a good time…YA DIG!

Boogie down funky nuggets!

Who doesn’t feel swish when their in the middle of the dance floor shaking their tail feather! OW OW!

Listening to these fellas’ really makes me groove.

Having a cup of rose tea always sets my mind to a relaxed and swish mindset.

Getting a massage and giving one in my case (I’m a student in massage school) always gives me the swish feeling! 🙂

Searching for Serenity

As I wake up in the earlier hours of the morning I suddenly have a burst of inspiration and adrenalin that I have not encountered in a good long while. I have determined that I will not conform to a life that just is not right for myself and that is the life of a negative prune who looks at the negative sides of things instead of focusing on the more positive prospects of new ideas, feelings, and outolooks of the world. I am most certainly searching for serenity dear nuggets…are you? I’m sure you are…who wouldn’t want to be in inner peace and utter happiness? Well your probably wondering what does this radical nugget do to achieve success on her journey to inner peace and utter happiness. Below I will list my ongoing list for serenity and overflowing love for your soul:

1. Listen to music that brings out the best in yourself. Although I love the band Metallica and Pantera…it just doesn’t bring out a very delicate and serenity filled Radical Rose. So I have chosen to listen to more optimistic tunes such Simon and Garfunkel, The Eagles, and Sons of the Sea. Now these sounds are highly satisfying!

~The song below makes me want to hug my cat…and the entire world…and yes while drinking delicious green tea~

2. The most important questions you can ever ask yourself is: Why am I here, How can I contribute? What are my values? After you figured those out your life will be a whole lot easier…simple questions with a lot of meaning. Really ponder on these questions.

3. Have a religion. I am a believer in God and Jesus Christ but I will not hate on anyone who does not believe but I will feel sadness because believe me when you find a religion/Christianity your life gets so much better!

4. Eat healthy for serenity and peace! I will not say that I never fail at this idea. Haha, I’m a bipolar raw foodist/juice fanatic. I’ll go crazy for a week or two and then completely fail but I must say I feel the best when I have three good healthy juices a day. Oranges and bananas are great happy foods!

5. Herbs for happiness! I suggest the herb Kava Kava and Valerian for relaxation. Passionflower and/or St.Johns Wort for a happier outlook! Also, inhaling the essential oil of orange and rose is helpful for the feeling of comfort and happiness.

6. Getting more Vitamin D! I honestly don’t go out enough…and Iv’e made a pact for myself to be outdoors and all possible causes because it’s spiffy and the outdoors is just so much groovier then the walls of an isolated shelter.

7. Try to give up as much technology as possible. The more the better!

~May your life be filled with spiffy serenity~

Taking Flight

I’m in silent lucidity.

where all is content…

wonderful, beautiful, but somehow unexplainable….

lost in a dimension…

of my unexplained thoughts…

that’s how I feel when I listen to these songs:

“Everything I encounter permeates me, washes in and out, leaving a tracery, placing me in that beautiful paradox of being by, which I am both a solitary creature and everyone, everything.” -Susan Griffin

“When there is danger, a good leader takes the front line; but when there is celebration, a good leader stays in the back of the room.” -O Magazine, 2001

May your days be filled with love and happiness. 🙂

Stay Rosy!

Transcendent

Do you ever wish to feel enlightened, lifted, or more content? Then try these supplements/herbal remedies that I have tried below to achieve that ultimate feeling.

1. Eat bananas, it increases dopamine in the body. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers. Dopamine also helps regulate movement and emotional responses, and it enables us not only to see rewards, but to take action to move toward them (Psychology para 1).

2.

Excellent supplement!

This supplement really alters your mood in ways you would ultimately desire. It takes about twenty to thirty minutes to kick in but this supplement really gives you that sort of happy boost. The side effects for me personally while taking this supplement is I can’t sleep for a long time and I end up waking up earlier. It isn’t bad just what I have experienced.

Looking for a sleep aid? This is it!

I definitely love this herb! I am a natural born night owl so I’m always looking for anything that can help me go to sleep and I must tell you Valerian has done a pretty swell job! Word to the Wise: NEVER combine St.Johns Wort and Valerian together because you will be absolutely exhausted.

I hope this helps you radical nuggets reach your feeling of enlightenment!

Hair/Skin Herbal Remedies

Are you sick of wasting your hard earned money on products that aren’t fulfilling your needs? Are you tired of being scammed or tricked into believing a certain product works and really doesn’t. Then dear groovy nuggets I bear you the information on herbal/natural remedies that WILL work! All the remedies I will list below I have used and I can tell you for a fact that I know they work. So let’s get started:

Skin/Hair

1. Everyday Face Wash: Use a teaspoon or more of honey (depending on how much you need) to wash your face. It’s that simple! Honey hydrates the skin and is an antibacterial as well. In past wars they used to clean the wounds with honey to help heal them. I have been using honey to wash my face for a couple of months and it has been the best thing for my face and helps dry/sensitive skin. I suggest using raw honey because it still has the natural enzymes and it also can be a natural exfoliate. You can also use the honey for a body wash as well. This remedy is very affordable and works super well! I usually buy my raw honey for only around ten dollars.

2. Body Oil/Hydration: Instead of using chemically filled and weird smelling lotions try coconut oil, which is a popular remedy used in India for not only the skin but the hair as well. I use coconut oil and I must say that it not only smells good but it’s extremely hydrating for the skin. I try to use it before I go out in the sun for a long period of time. Grapeseed Oil, is a light oil that can easily be used to hydrate the skin during the day. This oil can also be used in the hair as well. An obvious one that everyone probably already knows about is Olive Oil, used widely in the Mediterranean it’s name has reached ears around the world about it’s delicacy and utmost cherished health properties. Flaxseed Oil, this oil is magnificent! This oil is very good for curly hair as well. This oil contains high contents of Omega 3’s which help the skin/hair stay lustful. I must warn you though it’s smell is pretty strong and can be somewhat repelling. So I suggest if you use flaxseed oil use it as night treatment.

3. Tightening Mask for Pores or Matured Skin: Crack open an egg, get rid of the yolk and just keep the egg whites. Wash the face normally, pat dry, then as crazy as it may seem put the egg whites on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes or whenever you feel the mask really starts tightening the face. After that you will see that your pores have really decreased, gone away, or your face feels quite smooth…ya dig!

4. Cinnamon/Honey Acne Treatment: Wash the face, pat it dry, and then take a teaspoon of any kind of organic honey (I suggest raw honey) and then take an equal amount of cinnamon and stir it up. Then apply it to your spots or acne and leave it on overnight (if you don’t toss or turn) or leave it on for 30 minutes or as long as you can.

5.  Castor Oil for eyelashes: Instead of wearing chemically and nasty filled mascara. I apply castor oil on my eyelids and some on my lower and upper eyelashes. This oil is very hydrating and VERY thick so it’s perfect for healthy lashes.

6. Rosemary Wash for hair or body: I pick fresh rosemary from my families garden about 3 to 4 “sticks” of rosemary and then I boil some water, put the rosemary in the boiling water, and then boil it for a good 10-15 minutes or until you can really smell the rosemary and when water has changed color.I then strain it, let it cool, and apply it to my hair as either a shampoo or an after rinse for my hair. You can also put this remedy in your bath water. You will smell heavenly! This is an excellent remedy for combating hair loss or growing thicker hair. This remedy has been used for centuries to help fight hair loss!

7. Aloe Vera Hair Rinse: You can either use an aloe plant, buy some aloe vera juice, or if you have a juicer just juice the aloe vera plant but you want to apply the aloe vera juice on your scalp for about 10-15 minutes after you wash your hair. This remedy has also been used for centuries especially in India. This remedy help stimulate hair follicles and helps your hair grow thicker. I love it!

8. Marigold Hair Lightener/Face Wash/Sun Saver: This plant is one of my all time favorites! This plant can highlight the hair with golden highlights, can help the skin replenish from a ton of sun exposure, and can lighten dark/acne spots if used for awhile. For Christmas I wanted a pound of marigold and some essential oils and thankfully I got them, gotta love family! Anyways, Take about a cup or two of marigold and put that in some boiling water for about 15-20 minutes, then let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes, and let it cool. Use this as a hair rinse, face wash, or put it in a dark colored spray bottle and use it before you go out into the sun, or you could even spray it on your hair when outside and let the golden highlights soak into your hair!

*The key to being healthy and beautiful is from within. You can use these remedies to beautify yourself but the beauty will truly never show if your insides are complete slush…and I’m not talking about the delicious slushies here nuggets!

*A little word to the wise: ALWAYS LOOK AT THE INGREDIENT LIST WHEN BUYING PRODUCTS! PLEASE! It’s such a simple thing but nobody ever looks at the ingredient list! The ingredient list is the one thing an individual should look at when not wanting to get scammed! Don’t look at the quality of the bottle or how cute or hip the bottle looks….look at what’s in it.

*For example: Some of the most famous and expensive and so called “high quality” hair products are terrible for the hair-This bottle below is priced at almost 14 dollars…ARE YOU SERIOUS:

Helps strengthen dried out and worn out locks? Really now?

*Ingredient List: Aqua (Water/Eau), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Parfum (Fragrance), Glycol Distearate, Dimethiconol, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Carbomer, Limonene, TEA-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Mica, Sodium Hydroxide, PPG-9, Tetrasodium EDTA, Benzyl Benzoate, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantoin, Geraniol, Linalool, Polyethylene, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 42090 (Blue 1), CI 15985 (Yellow 5).

*Could you ingest that? I don’t think so! Yeah not good at all! If any of you know basic knowledge you would know that the ingredients at the top of the list are way more potent then the ones at the bottom. Sodium Laureth Sulfate is our main enemy hear! This ingredient is a lathering agent which creates the “sudsy”  or “clean” affect of the shampoo. This shampoo also increases hair fall and makes you hair weaker. Strike one! Sodium Chloride also known as table salt is used as a thickener in shampoos. It also causes irritation to the eyes and a dry scalp…hah and were just getting started! Yellow 5 which is used as a coloring agent in the shampoo has been linked to potential fertility issues.

*Your skin is your biggest organ and anything you apply topically while soak into the skin and go into the bloodstream causing just as much harm as ingesting bad food. So it’s no joke! Watch out for bad products by looking at the ingredient list and knowing what’s in the product you want to buy.

*My motto: If you can’t eat it why use it?

Anyways, hopefully this was or will be helpful for you radical nuggets!

On a happy note…I will leave you beautiful nuggets with a song that fits perfectly with this article:

I just really love this song:

Stay Rosy!

Radical Rose

Life is Wonderful

Isn’t life just glorious. I was just sitting back and thinking about all the amazing things in this world and all the interesting people in it. Since this is a retro blog I will be and have been sharing my desires for the past but I just got to thinking….as disappointing as it may be I don’t live in the 1960’s…I didn’t get to experience the 1967 Summer of Love concert but you know what that’s okay. No, I didn’t get to see Led Zeppelin live and experience music that really touches the soul. No, I didn’t get to dance under a disco ball while dancing with a dashing man in a suit to More than a Woman by the Bee Gees. No, I didn’t get to see Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald sing and perform their magnificent pieces that are dearly cherished to this day, but you know what life will ultimately go on.  For myself it’s not just the music that I love about the past but the feeling put into it, the authenticity of it all and the love people showed while performing it. The point to this post was not to rant about how life is sad these days or how it’s not as wonderful as the past. Life is wonderful-it’s just the way you look at things. With the wonderful computer I get to cherish each and every oldies song from the magnificent web. The little things in life are so precious and amazing. I just can’t believe I never appreciated life for what it was worth before. Their is so much to be thankful for. Without my friends, family, music, and my cat life would be so dull. Anyways, my point to this post is being thankful for what you have. Also, the most important thing you have is yourself….as weird as this comes out to be but the only way you can reach your highest potential or complete contentment is being your own best friend. Don’t rely on others to complete your happiness. Love your self and life will open up to you. Live with less and the world will open to you in so many opportunities. May your life be filled with extreme happiness and groovy times! Stay spiffy nuggets! PS: Below I will post some songs that just make life a little bit better. 🙂

Diggity ❤

I’m most definitely thankful for this spiffy nugget:
